Bear Schickel is currently a second-year student at the University of California Berkeley. His hometown is Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where he learned how to full send on the track and cross country teams in high school. After suffering from a number of injuries during his junior year, he eventually transferred his sending abilities to triathlon. Some of his accomplishments include recently pocketing his first collegiate win and being the first freshman across the line at the 2018 Collegiate Club National Championships. He hopes to continue to smash watts and help lead his collegiate teammates to the podium at the 2019 collegiate club championships. Outside of sending triathlons, Bear enjoys eating lots of food and spending time with his family and friends. You can follow him on strava and on instagram @bear.schicks21.
